I made this canvas for a family member for Christmas. Happy to say he loved it! I’m lying low for the holidays, so no more posts from me until January. Well, maybe one. I do have a Design Memory Craft post coming out next week! Need a rest and time to create more art to share. Merry Christmas to you!
I have a new post up on the Design Memory Craft blog today! I created some seriously fun Christmas tags with a twist!
Here’s a sneak peek. Head on over to the Design Memory Craft blog for the full post and lots more pics. You may even recognize yourself while you’re there! If you have an extra moment, I’d love it if you’d leave me a comment after you’re read my post!
Hello everyone! This is such a busy time of year. I have to be careful to not let creativity take a back seat when my to-do list needs attention. Here’s a page I’ve been working on recently.
I used Pan Pastels to create the background. Collage is the next layer and the ink layer came last, including the tree which I created. I’d love to know what you think – please leave a comment below!
If you’re an art supply nerd like me you’re probably curious about the the story behind your favorite products. Was there a Derwent? How did acrylic paint come about? Why are some erasers awesome while others rip my paper?
Well, if you’ve ever wondered about the beloved pencil, a basic necessity in every artist’s tool box, here is a behind the scenes peek at graphite that you may find as interesting as I did!
Look what I have for you today, my friends! A google+ bestie led me to this find and it was something I thought you’d like to bookmark. Here’s my favourite printable (don’t be surprised if you see it on a future art journal page!). Wouldn’t this be great printed in black and white with unexpected heads inside, like pets or silly family faces?
You can find the other printables at Eclectic Anthology. Happy collaging!
Overwhelmed by pen choice? In a quandry over paint vs. ink? Look no further, friends, I’ve done the work for you! Here’s a handy little video that compares different black pens an art journal page or mixed media project may require and puts them to the test with water, india ink and alcohol ink. Did every pen pass the test? Find out here!
Holy smokes this has been a busy week! Where does the time go?
I wanted to show you something fun I added to my junk journal. Check out these tabs:
Can you guess where I got them? I’ll give you a hint… they were free! I found them in my recycling bin…
Yes indeedy friends, it’s the weird box top thingy from the kleenex box. Just turn over, fold, stick, and paint. Couldn’t be easier! And in terms of functionality, they’re sturdy and a great canvas for paint or ink. Love it!!
Just another reason to love junk journalling – upcycling! If you’ve repurposed anything for your art or junk journal I’d love to hear about it. Please tell me about it in the comments section!
